16 Years in Physical Therapy. Finally a Model That Makes Sense.
Ergo PT was built by someone who has seen the inside of this industry from every angle: as a clinician, as a patient, and as someone who kept asking why care had to be this hard to access.
I’ve been in the room. I’ve also been on the table.
For 16 years I worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant across outpatient clinics, hospital systems, home health, skilled nursing, and employer health settings. I’ve treated patients with back injuries, shoulder impingements, post-surgical recoveries, repetitive strain, neck pain, neurological conditions, and everything in between. I’ve seen what works, what doesn’t, and more importantly, I’ve seen what patients and employers actually need versus what the traditional healthcare system is built to deliver.
But I haven’t just seen it from the clinical side. I’ve lived it as a patient too. Over the years I’ve dealt with my own share of injuries, the kind that teach you what it actually feels like to navigate the system you work in. Waiting for appointments that are weeks out. Dealing with insurance authorization delays. Showing up to a 60-minute appointment and getting 20 minutes of face time. Those experiences didn’t just give me empathy for patients, they gave me a firsthand understanding of exactly where the friction is and why people stop following through on care.
What I kept running into, from both sides of the table, was the same problem: the gap between when someone gets hurt and when they actually get care is too long. An employee strains their back at their desk on a Monday. The earliest PT appointment they can get is three and a half weeks away. By the time they get in, what started as a manageable problem has become a serious one, and now they’re looking at six to eight weeks of treatment instead of two.
I watched that happen over and over again. And I watched employers absorb the cost of it without ever realizing there was another way.
Ergo PT is my answer to that gap. I built a model where the care comes to the employee, directly into the employer’s building, so there’s no wait, no commute, no copay, and no excuse not to get care early.
